Shine My Garden (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a garden cleaning, cutting and maintenance service based at 17 New Eskaton Road, 3rd Floor, Dhaka 1000, Bangladesh. We operate the website shinemygarden.com and provide services to homes, rooftops, balconies, offices and shared spaces in and around Dhaka. For the purposes of this policy, we are responsible for deciding how your personal information is used.

Information we collect

We only collect what we need to answer your enquiry, carry out the work and run our business properly.

Information you give us

• Your name, phone number, WhatsApp number and email address.
• The address of the property where the work will take place, including floor, building name and access notes.
• Photos and descriptions of your garden, rooftop or balcony that you send for a quote.
• Your preferences for visit days, times and the plants or areas you want treated in a particular way.
• Payment details such as the bKash or Nagad number used, bank transfer reference or invoice details for company clients. We do not store card numbers.

Information collected automatically

• Basic technical data when you visit the website: IP address, browser type, device, pages viewed and time of visit.
• Cookies and similar technologies, as explained in our Cookie Policy.

Information from others

Sometimes a building manager, caretaker, relative or employer contacts us on your behalf. In that case we record their name and contact details alongside yours.

How we use your information

• To reply to your enquiry and prepare a written quote.
• To schedule visits, send reminders and tell you if a visit has to move because of weather.
• To carry out the work, including before-and-after photos of the garden for your records and our quality checks.
• To take payment, issue receipts and invoices, and keep accounts as required by law.
• To handle complaints, refunds and follow-up visits.
• To improve our services and website, using anonymised or summary information wherever possible.
• To send occasional seasonal reminders (for example, pre-monsoon hedge cutting) only if you have agreed to receive them. You can stop these at any time.

Why we are allowed to use it

We use your information because it is needed to provide the service you asked for, because we have a legitimate interest in running and improving our business, because the law requires us to keep certain records, or because you have given consent — for example, to receive seasonal reminders or to let us use photos of your garden on our website.

Photos of your garden

Our crews take photos before and after each job. These are shared with you and kept for quality control. We will not publish photos of your garden, home or anyone in it on our website or social media without your clear permission, and we avoid capturing people, house numbers and vehicle plates in the first place.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only when necessary:

• With our crew members who need your address and access notes to do the work.
• With payment providers such as bKash, Nagad or your bank to process payments.
• With service providers who help us run the business — for example, website hosting, email, messaging and accounting software — under confidentiality obligations.
• With authorities where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not lead to a booking are deleted after 12 months. Records of completed jobs, invoices and payments are kept for as long as required for tax and accounting purposes, normally up to six years. Garden photos are kept for up to two years unless you ask us to delete them sooner.

Keeping it safe

We limit access to customer information to the staff who need it, use password-protected systems, keep the website on secure hosting with an SSL certificate, and remove old records we no longer need. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information and will tell you promptly if a problem affects you.

Your choices and rights

• Ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
• Ask us to correct details that are wrong or out of date.
• Ask us to delete information we no longer need.
• Withdraw consent for reminders or photo use at any time.
• Complain to us, and we will respond within 14 days.

Our website and services are meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us their details, contact us and we will delete them.
